A road trip through heartbreak, growth, and going platinum

Olivia Rodrigo’s rise was immediate. SOUR dominated charts, broke streaming records, and earned global attention. But behind that success was a more personal story. The transition from actor to artist, and the work and emotion behind the music.

Driving Home 2 U created the opportunity to tell that story.

The film follows Olivia on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles, revisiting the songs from SOUR through reimagined performances and personal reflection. It wasn’t a traditional concert film. It was intimate, reflective, and grounded in her journey. The insight was about perspective. Fans already knew the songs. What they hadn’t seen was the process behind them.

I helped shape a campaign that leaned into that intimacy. Using restrained, evocative visuals from the journey and performance moments that felt raw and personal. The goal was to build anticipation without overexposure, allowing the emotional depth of the film to unfold naturally.

The response was strong. Over 5 million views in the first week. A 25% increase in Disney+ subscriptions during launch. Renewed streaming momentum for SOUR.

More importantly, it deepened the connection between Olivia and her audience. Not just as a breakout artist, but as a storyteller still finding her voice.
